Did you swap the drives, or are you still running them both?

If you're still running the old drive, check your BIOS settings. Also, you probably want to set your boot drive to the "master" setting, if you haven't already done so.

  3. I did the same operation about a year and a half ago when I moved to a spacious 40 gig condo from my stuffy little 6gig studio. Heres what I did.

    1. Ghost copy your old drive
    2. Remove the old drive and replace it with the brand new one.
    3. Go into bios and make sure the new drive is recognized and ready to go.
    4. Boot into ghost and have it begin its operations.
    5. Reboot.

Now if you want your old drive to function as a backup drive or just as storage then you must set its jumpers to slave. 2 masters cant exist together.

  6. Not to knock Ghost (since I don't have it), I have been very sucessful using Drive2Copy, which I actually bought.

This is a small program which works with Windows 95 & 98. If you use it, suggest that you format the new hard drive first then run the program.

More information can be found at: http://www.highergroundsoftware.com/d2dfeat.htm

You can find it on Kazaa if you look real hard for "drive2copy.zip"

    Hope you're successful.

    Try reading this link
    http://www.motherboards.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7781&highlight=

This is about using DOS copy command to copy a drive.
It makes use of copying files from a boot floppy also.
I haven't done this myself, but the person who replied said
he's done it a couple of dozen times w/o problems.

If the link doesn't work go to motherboards.org in the forums got to
the tech support area and look for a post about configuring 2 hard
drives with a DVD & CD writer.
    good luck
