  1. I have a divx source wíth these specs:

    Length: 50 min
    Resolution: 512x288, 16:9 (widescreen)
    FPS: 23.976 FPS
    Audio: 127kbps 48000Hz

I'd like to convert this to a VCD so 2 episodes of this source with the same length (2x50min=100min) to fit on a 700MB/80min CD-R, WITH the the correct aspect ratio. Can anyone help me with this? Which settings to use in TMPEG and etc.? Or mayby there is a good template that I can use? Or mayby any good calculators for this kind of stuff?

My dvd player is a Pioneer DV-535 so all nonstandard VCD/XVCD's work.

When dealing with DivX files, I always keep in mind a few simple rules:
    • DivX files are meant to be used on a computer.
    • Taking that into account, they use (or should use, if properly done) a 1:1 pixel aspect ratio.
    • Taking, again, that bit into account as well, the easiest method would be to add black borders to the size of the DivX file, as-is, without resizing, until you get a 4:3 resolution using that same 1:1 pixel aspect ration, then resizing the complete 4:3 frame into the desired VCD resolution (in your case, into NTSC resolution).

    Saying that:

    a 4:3 resolution using a horizontal width of 512 is 512x384.
    1. Use the 'Resize' filter, do not alter the image dimentions, But use 'Exapnd frame and letterbox image' to 512 (same as width) on 384.
    2. Use another resize filter to resize the whole frame to 352x240.

Alternatively, you can use 'source aspect ratio - 1:1' in TMPGEnc settings, and 'keep aspect ratio'. However, suggesting this method a few days ago, a forum member reported that it didn't work.
