Ok Erm, This Might sound dum to a lot of you but this is the only place i could think of to ask for help.

I am new to the video editing game and i made an intro for my movies in swish, a flash copy.

I saved it as an *.avi file and i wanted to merge it with my final avi movie, the problem is, it says the two files have different sampling rates in virtualdub, therefor it wont append the video segment.

I have tried re compressing the swish exported avi to the same compression and frame rate etc as my final avi film but i still get something to the extent of "the two files have different sampling rates".

I know this can be done, I once downloaded Dog Soldiers from tmd-moviez which had a flash movie as an intro, which was part of the film itself.

This is really stressing me out, if anyone can help this would be gratefully appreciated.

AVI joiners insist on the two clips being configured precisely the same, the only way to ensure this is if the clips where created by the same product.

You could try 'EO Video' to join them (see the tools section) although I suspect you will have the same problem with this.

I think the only way to join two dissimilar AVIs is to use a video editor such as 'Ulead Video Studio' or 'MovieXone' which accept clips of different specs and renders them as a new combined clip.

  3. I've got the same problem with a divX movie. There are missing the credits at the beginning, so I've downloaded an other file. Now I can't put them together (well, I could use Media Studio, but then I'd loose quality).
There are so many programs for ripping DVDs and converting AVI's to mpgs. There must exist one for merging two avi files...
