Is it possible to create one large Mpeg 2 file without
having DVD2SVCD split the out put over x amount of disks if so how?
Ideally i'd like to cut the file with TMPEGenc so i can
create the 'change cd point' of the movie.
Thanks for any help

smartripper is better? what kind of answer is that?
DVD2SVCD makes one large file for you, then it runs Pulldown on it (if needed) then splits while it muxes. So you could mux the MPV and MP2 together yourself and then cut where ever you like. Or you could change the bitrate in CCE so that BBMpeg will mux it all for you into one large file. To do that, change the bitrate from 740,800 (whichever you have it at) to 1600 and all the CD numbers to 1 in all the tabs. That should create one large file for you. -
hi,
will that make a file around 700mb? and if yes, how does the quility look? -
Just use big enough CD's
Put in CD size dialog for example 4000 Mb as CD size-> DVD2SVCD makes one big mpg. -
Yo, hi again,
well, Faceman is completely right. You will find the video and audio stream in your DVD2SVCD Output Directory.
But Note: Frame precise cutting with TMPGEnc is impossible. The timestamp you see inside the cutting dialog will not match the scene you see inside the preview window, so precise cutting will lead into a gamble.
My suggestion (well, i did it so: Use Womble MPEG2VCR and load your video into a project and move the slider to the point you will cut your film.
Notice the timestamp.
Now you can cut your video with tmpgenc by inserting the timestamp (you will see, the scene is not the same as in mpeg2vcr), or you multiplex your video with bbMpeg by specifying the timeranges (you must type in the seconds here).
Hope i could help you,
Greetz
