  1. Perhaps someone can shed some light on my new DVD player:
It is a LG DVD1000 (DVD and VHS Combo).

All works well except for when I come to try 'home made' VCD's .
The player recognizes the disc, loads and starts to play. But, both picture and Sounds 'stutter' badly.

The VCD's are from home moves. Captured using virtualdub and encoded using the starndard PAL VideoCD profiles in TPMGenc. They are burnt using adaptec directCD

These VCD's play fine on a friends panasonic DVD player (quality is excellent) and our PC

Any ideas. Many thanks in advance (and also for a great site !0

  2. Check to see that your player is meant to except CD-R or CD-RW in the manual, many players that are able to except CD-R can still be picky about the disks - try another brand, if it plays in someone elses player it sounds like the player doesn't like the disk. Try another make or try CD-RW, if the player excepts CD-RW and does not splutter then it is the brand of CD-R that the player does not like - try another brand. This all asumes that the player is able to read CD-R.
