  1. I know this dvd has been covered before, but I no one has actually said do x,y,z then it will work.

I'm trying to rempeg jay and silent bob on region 1, which when reencoded goes all blocky. Its something to do with the first few cells in the VOBs that make the rest of the encoding go funny, or so I'm lead to believe.

Other points to note which may be relevent is that the beginning of the movie and the end credits have multi-angles for two different languages. They also appear to be interlaced when this happens and the rest of the movie is progressive. I've heard that interlaced video causes problems for rempeg?

Now could somebody tell me EXACTLY how to make this dvd fit onto a DVDR?

  2. don't know the movie, but it's probably a "warner bros" dvd...

Just look in ifoedit (..01_0.vts) in VTS overview and you see something like:
    PGC_1 (program chain): .........
    [Ch 01] [Pg 01] [Cell 01] [V/C Id: 1/ 1] ........

    V/C means: VOB cell ID
If you doubleclick that, a new screen will popup with a slider. move the slider slowly to the right and and make sure this is the Warner logo.
If so, you can strip that VOB-id. You can find "Strip VOB id's" under the button "VOB Extras". Use it the same way as "Strip Streams" Toggle that ID which you want to keep, in this example everything, but NOT ID 1.

    It's that simple
    Good luck

I've tried this with two different DVD's (Region 1, NTSC), but I get an error box that says "Item not editable".
    I don't have a bad attitude...

  4. You didn't read it well, that section is read only, goto the vob-extra's and there you have "strip VOB id's" but you have to know what ID's you want to keep

Maybe I didn't "Write" it well.

What I meant to say was, when trying the above, she no workie!

  6. Its not a Warner Bros movie. I've now stripped out the french? angle, but the movie is still like 4.7GB, so needs to be reencoded, but the beginning of the movie and near the end is part progressive, part interlaced, so rempeg is making it all blocky! I tried rempeging just VTS_01_2.VOB, which came out fine, so how can I just reencode say vob id's 2 and 3? The affected vobs are 1 and 4 I believe (working from memory)
