I've been experimenting with vcds and using various programs, burning techniques (ie different speeds and burners), and dvd players, but my main porblem is that most of the ones I burn don't come out half as good as the ones professionally made like CDi video and VCDs from Eureka. What am I doing wrong? Does anyone have any suggestions?

DVD rips can be made into perfect VCD's, ANYTHING else is a waste of time, you wont get very good quality.
Use DVD rips from DivX downloads into TMPGEnc, and a VCD template
