  1. backed up time machine of dual layer dvd , but when played on set toponly 1 hour of film instead of 1 hour 36mins can anyone tell me why plz, the file size was under 4.7 it was 4.2 thanks, ps used dvd decrypter and nero and al the others so many porgrams out there

  2. most probably because you ripped to a single m2v file and are not using NTFS so it doesn't support files over 4GB, most ripping programs report that the rip was successful but cut the end off the movie leaving you with a 3.9gb file.

  3. thanks for the reply how do i over come this, iam not a newbie to pc ,self build installed two drives and two opperating systems,plz advise

    if you are running Win2000/etc convert the drive to a ntfs partition this will allow files bigger that 4gb. But in doing this you will lose all the data on that drive so be sure to back up any data there

    You don't lose all the data on the drive if you run a convert, only if you reformat it.

    Go to a dos prompt and type

    Convert c: /FS:NTFS

    assuming it's the C: drive you want to convert and all the data remains intact. if the drives in use it will do it next time windows restarts.
