This is relatively trivial and apologies if it's been asked before.

When creating a project file from the Forbidden Planet trailer .vob, DVD2AVI totally ignores the sound. I am unable to play the trailer with sound using the preview function and no .wav file is created. The audio format box in the information section is completely blank although I know it to be 2ch AC-3. The relevant audio box was ticked when the trailer was streamed from DVD Decrypt.

I can play the .vob file with sound using WinDVD so it must be present. I haven't had this problem before with any movie title or any extras sequence.

    Hi there,
I had a similar problem once, and I realized that I had not gone into the file menu and selected "Save Project" and given it a name. Then it saved my wav file. Try that and see if that doesn't solve it. If not, sorry, but I don't have any other ideas. good luck.

    Thanks.

I found the solution in another thread on this topic but didn't want to be seen to be replying to my own post.

It turned out that the sound for the trailer was located on Track 3 rather than Track 1. Since there was only one soundtrack on the trailer I naturally assumed it to be Track 1. Selecting Track Number: Track 3 from the audio menu in DVD2AVI solved the problem.

For anyone interested I was converting the anamorphic 2.35:1 version of the movie and trailer to 16:9 ratio in order to fill a widescreen TV.
