HuffyUV Codec Question

I tried to use the HuffyUV Codec (in DVD2AVI - SAVE AVI) to 'convert' a movie and the movie was huge. About 5 minutes of Video was 2GB. I know this is a lossless codec, but is there any way around this problem or do I need to buy a huge hard drive?

Any suggestions as to what can be done to fix this?

Read sefys newbie guide and you dont need to make a temp avi.

Thanks Baldrick, but I am not satisfied with the quality of the Rip by following that method. Is there any hope of better quality? Movements of people and objects are 'grainy' with that method.

Is there anyway that I can use the PicVideo Codec (or HuffyUV) and get better results?

Grainy? I think not. This is because the AVI ripped is still interlaced, not progressive, therefore the grainy picture. To rip to a much smaller file size, but still very good for converting to VCD later as final product, try to encode it in Divx Low Motion at 6000kbps. Mine average at about 4000kbps, about 1.8GB will get you 60mins of video data, not including audio.
