I have some old home movies that were shot with an 8mm anolog sony camcorder. My question is, what is the best way to clean up the video source, I can play the old tapes in my new sony digitial camera to capture them, however the picture is grainy. I have Tmpgenc and the noise filter doesn't seem to make a big difference. Most of the problem occurs when the light source on the original tape is low. Is there any other software that works well to do this or should I try to get ahold of a anolog camera and use mine as a pass thru? I capture with pinnacle studio 7.0 and it works well so i could edit the movie and then use another program to clean it up if that is possible. thanks for yor help in advance. Another thing I should mention is that time is not a big factor, meaning if there is a good program to do this but it adds another day to the finished project, that doesn't matter to me. I would rather have real good results then to do the project in 10 hrs, if ya know what I mean.
