I have been using VDub to capture VHS tapes. I set the frame rate ro 29.97 and VDub changes it automatically to a value just a little but higher. I can capture the video and it views / sounds fine in VDub.
When I take this avi file and use it as an input to DVD2SVCD I get a warning that 29.971 fps is not a valid frame rate. I can run DVD2SVCD and it makes a good video file, but there is no sound.
I have found a workaround in VDub by saving the avi file out again with video / audio direct processing, changing the frame rate to 29.97. When I do this the accurate frame rate sticks and DVD2SVCD works just fine.
I seem to be the only person that has run into this problem. Has anyone else seen this problem and is there a better way around it rather than save the file twice. This is eating up a lot of hard drive space.
TIA
