i'm not really sure if i was exactly using the logoaway filter, but i went to add it then it braught me back to the add screen. i clicked on "cropping" since what i wanted to edit out was in the widescreen black bars, got rid of it fine w/o a problem. and i went to save it with the video and audio on "direct streaming" so the file wouldn't be so big as it always is with "full processing mode" but as i went to "save as avi" and it says that i can't use the filters option w/o saving it in full processing mode. anyways, i figure since i can't save it any other way then i guess thats what i'm gonna end up having to do. but that makes the file (which was originally only 130 mbs) into a 7 gig + file and half way through i got an error saying that i can't save files that are over 4 gigs on my computer. how do i get around this one?

btw, i'm using virtual dub. i also have another question, the movie i'm trying to edit is One Hour Photo and since its still a theater release the quality is kinda choppy. is their a way to edit it so that it comes out clearer since i plan on making a vcd out of it?

sounds as if you were saving it in a uncompressed avi format .. use a compressed format to make it smaller ..

on the choppy thing .. if you mean camera shake , not a lot you can do , sounds like a screener , which is vcd anyway ... any re-encoding will not make it better really - though you can add some motion blur and noise reduction ..

  3. Also, if you're ultimate goal is to turn it into a vcd you can just set up the filters the way you want, use virtualdub as a frameserver for tmpgenc to then encode as a vcd (or whatever encoder you're going to use).

<-----------------Check out the frameserving guide under convert

its not that the camera is shakey, its the quality itself is kinda grainy. and yea it is a screener, but i wanted to know if any of the filters that come with virtual dub can make the picture clearer since i want to be able to watch this on my dvd player after i make a vcd out of it.
