  1. I have been using SpruceUp 1.0 for my authoring to do menus, etc. I just got a copy of Maestro but haven't played with it yet (I'm at work). But I was just curious if it has the 4:3 export problem that SpruceUp has, does it do 5-channel AC3 (when the source is 5-channel AC3 and\or 2 channel PCM) and what makes it better than SpruceUp. Thanks.

    Scott.

Maestro and Scenarist are the two best authoring programs avaiable.
it does DTS , ac3 (5:1 yes) , pcm etc .. there are no exporting problems though export to what im not sure what you mean... it can do both wide screen and 4:3 and has a host of other features ....

  3. Yes, I just meant the problem where SpruceUp exports widescreen movies as 4:3 (well, simply labels them as such) and you have to use IFOEdit to fix it. Most of the tutorials assume you are using Maestro as the authoring tool so I thought I would give it a try. But I wanted to be able to keep AC3 and SpruceUp was one of the few to do that (and Maestro, too, from what you are telling me). Thanks.
