  1. I’m new to this forum, so this may be a stupid question to many of the older members – please be patient with me. I’ve searched the forum for an answer to my question / problem, but since I’m pretty much in the dark as to the source of my problem, I have had no luck identifying any thread or topic that can help me. If there is a thread that discus this problem, I would be grateful if you just point me in the right direction

I’ve got this problem with sound-playback on my Xcard. Whenever I encode a DivX movie to SVCD, I’m unable to playback the sound on my Xcard. The sound is scrambled and I can only hear a constant tone, changing frequency now en then. However, when playing the same converted movie using my Hollywood+ card, I experience no adio og video problem – It plays back with excellence. This makes me conclude that the sound is not corrupted. The sound is encodede in either format: 48000Hz/128 bitrate or 41000Hz 224 bitrate.

I follow the DivX -> SVCD guides on this website whenever I encode. When I download a SVCD movie, my Xcard decodes the audio perfectly. Sadly, the movies I encode on my own won’t work with the Xcard , but – as I mentioned, the sound on my own encodes works when I playback on my Hollywood+ card

I use TMPGenc to convert the movie, and SCMPX or LAME as external audio encoder. Whenever it is required, I extract the sound with nandub/virtualdub and convert it to wav / uncompressed audio.

    Any suggestions???

    Thanks - webowski...

  2. I believe I found a solution to this problem on my own I just set the Copyright flag under Setting -> Audio I TMPGEnc, and the Xcard decodes sound like a dream. I guess it’s due to the copyright protections to which the Xcard conforms
