    Format: DVD, VCD-1,0, 2,0, 3,0, SVCD,CDDA, MP3, CD-R, CVD, CD-RW, DVCD.

    If the dvd player can play thoose format, can i play my home made VCD movie then.

    Because when im encoding a movie i says its a mpg file???

    Put simply
    YES IT SHOULD

    The file you encode will be an mpg. You then use another program to author and burn a VCD. Programs include Nero. VCDEasy and Ulead Video Studio. There are others too check out the guides on this site they will help u thru the process.
