  1. I've been having a problem lately with .avi files encoded with the SMR Codec. I usually download the SMR movies, convert to VCD, and then burn them without much incident. But recently, i've had trouble with several of the files i've downloaded.
When i play back the encoded MPEG, the flesh tones will gradually change to a bright pink, and then flash back to their regular colors. Sometimes this happens over the course of 20-30 seconds, and sometimes it happens rapidly, every 2-3 seconds. I've tried playing with the color correction options, but it doesn't help - if i lower the Red on the RGB settings, the change isn't quite as noticeable, but it's definitely still happening.
Any suggestions? This is driving me nuts.
