I captured a video, and there are color problems. The colors are going bright, dim, bright, dim. Anyone know of any vdub filters that may smooth things out, where it may keep each color a consistant shade?

Sounds like you tried to capture a commercial tape and have macrovision problems. If so, then there is nothing you can do in software - you have to recapture it using a time base corrector in between the player and the capture card.
If you can post a short example from the clip, or give better details regarding the source and the process you used, that would help.Read my blog here.
