I have a question about burning VCDs and SVCDs to a DVD-R. Some standalone players won't play the VCD format, so if I burned it to a DVD-R would these movies then work (assuming the player can handle DVD-R). I guess I am trying to figure out if burning to the DVD changes the movie format, or does it just allow me to put 2 disks worth of movie onto one disk.

In theory you should b able to put XSVCD on to DVDr, but at the moment most Writer prog's won't give this as an option. I have found that my DVD Player will play MPG's as straight MPG's so just copying the files striaght to the DVDr as a ISO disk works for me.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Simon.
P.S. My DVD also lets me select which file I wish to play from an on screen menu...
