  1. Yo!

I ripped .DAT file from a VCD. (So I got a nice MPEG-1)
I want to cut something from it with TMPEG and make a new mpeg-1 file from it, to burn again as VCD.
Sadly, the audio gets out of sync after a few minutes!!...
(I used the VCD wizard from TMPEG...)

I already tried saving the .wav seperatly (both with TMPEG and VirtualDub). It's the same length as the video file.
What does TMPEG do wrong?!?! (or me )

I feel like trying that panasonic VCD encoder but it keeps telling me it requires 6 GB of free space or something!
And the LSX wants AVI files for input.

Oh, I got the latest TMPEG (2.57)

  2. When you extract the audio as a WAV....do you use it as the audio source in TMPGE?

Vdub > file Open > (after parsing) > Audio Tab > Compression > No Compression (pcm) > Audio Tab > Conversion > 44100 > File > Save Wav.
Warning!...this wil probably be a huge file...so make sure you have enough space.

Use resulting WAV as audio source when encoding with TMPGE.
If you want to cut it ...TMPGE > Settings > Advanced > Source Range > then set start and stop frames etc.
    or
TMPGE > Mpeg Tools > Merge and Cut > Set Type you want (vcd non standard etc) > Add Filer > Double click on it > select time range ,start and stop etc using { and } > and OK.
If you want to remove a section,I think with TMPGE you will have to save a first part then a second part then merge them together.
