I am using TMPGenc, I have two MPEGs that I recorded using WinDVR 2.0 ( VCD template ), the software has split the files at 600MB so I now have to put them together, I also am cutting out commercials ( keep in mind too that I have been doing this for a while now with out any problems )
This time however after cutting & merging the final file the audio is off, first time ever, I also have tried removing commercials out of the first MPEG only & the result file still has the audio off.
The original MPEG from the capture has no problems with audio.
Does anyone have any idea on what could cause this problem?

    Thanx

    ADD ON:
Ok I have noticed something else, when I go & CROP out a section of video & save that portion of it into MPEG the audio works fine.

    ADD ON 2:
OK I think I have it figured out, the capture was bad, I captured another video for an hour & then went to cut out the commercials & it worked fine, I guess there was a glitch in the capture.
    Thanx for your help everyone

I have the feeling that TMPGEnc has a few bugs in it when it comes to splitting and merging MPEGS. I tried to split the Spiderman movie that I downloaded. The MPEG ran for 1H 57Mins and I tried to splice it half way through. What I got was a file containing the first 5 minutes only. Each time I got the same result. In the end I had to re-encode the movie using the source range option which worked fine. My advice, if you have another piece of software that will splice/merge MPEGS then try that and see what happens. Sorry I couldn't be of much help.

i had also a problem converting the spiderman movie: the mpeg had no sound, while the avi did have.
maybe an option i read elsewhere on this site helps: extract the video and audio, and put them together again.
lousy job, but it may work.
