  1. ah ok when i capture in virtual dub using the picvideo codec, the audio is VERY weak.. and hollow. Any ideas why this is happening?
It sounds perfect coming though my speakers while im capturing, but when i play it back it sounds awful. or can i correct this with tmpgenc?
using a radeon7500 all in wonder+ line in to my onboard sound. Audio is fine in ati mmc tv app but horrible in vdub.
    Any help appreciated, thx.

  3. Try adjusting the capture audio volume in VDUB...what your hear when capturing is the input, not the result.

use a higher quality encoder for audio, higher bitrate, higer sampking rate etc.

    greetz..

  4. Double click your volume control to get the large panel, then go options, properties, select recording, hit ok, and now you have the recording options and controls in front of you. Ajust away.
    Common oversight.

  5. yes i keep volume control open while capturing. im wondering what do you mean by different encoder? I set it to cd quality in vdub. is that what u mean?

  6. oh i was thinking, perhpas this is being caused by my onboard audio? would a real pci soundcard solve this? or does it not sound like that type of problem.
    thx for replies btw.

  7. I think that by "Double click your volume control" they meant to double-click that little speaker icon in your windows systray.
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

simply check your audio recording properties ( volume control )
put "line in" to 0 just before capturing.

    open volume control , OK
then -> options -> properties -> check RECORD

the mixer is now RECORDING CONTROL
check your LINE IN fader and test

changing LINE IN fader in VOLUME CONTROL will not change anything.

    good luck
