    Does anyone know any standalone freeware program that allows you to take snapshots of videos to jpeg format???

    What format is the video? MPEG-1? MPEG-2? AVI? MOV? DV?

    PowerDVD (software DVD player) will play media files and grab frames. I believe a demo is available. Format of stills is probably BMP but tons of stuff will convert to JPG (including Windows Paint).
