Ok you know how in movies, you get those lines and stuff, like scratches and circles appear on the screen because of film defects.

How would i make a picture look like it came off a movie screen?

We are doing a yearbook with a movie theme and i wanna make the ads look like they are on 16mm film.

there are several programs (most big bucks) that can do this as well as plug ins for after effects but also Vegas Video with the Plug-In Pack has this effect also

  3. Do you want to apply the effect to video, or just to stills?
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

Quicktime Pro for PC ($30-ish) lets you import a video, then export it with a filter- one of the included ones being film noise (grain, scratches and hair).

Download Quicktime from Apple. Register it. Then you import the AVI or MOV file you want to add the film effect to. Then select export. I don't have Quicktime on the PC I'm on now, but I think you click OPTIONS and select the Special Effects category, then Film Effects. You can adjust the amount of dust/noise/scratches/hair. There are other filters to change color (e.g. faded 8mm color).
