Hi everyone. I regularly download AVI`s from KazaA. The problem i have is after i encode and burn these movies to vcd format using Nero the playback starts off ok but after about 10 or 15 mins of playback the pixels become larger and its hard to even know what you`re looking at on the movie. I`ve done everything according to the nero burning notes but it still has the same effect. I`ve burnt about 3 movies now and tried it in both pal and ntsc format and both have the same result. Sound sync is ok though. Can someone please help as it`s alittle frustrating after the length of the download and the encoding are painstakinlg long only to be dissapointed with the outcome. Or is there another movie format to download that may work apart from Avi. Thanks very much

  2. The only thing I can think might be a possible problem is maybe the bitrate is too high for your player? Or non-compliant VCD or SVCD?

  3. i found out why it did it on my dvd player so this might be the problem for yours. are you using a sharpie marker to label your discs? cause before, that caused blocks on my vcds, now my vcds are block free

Thanks for your help biggantdogg. Sorry it`s taken awhile to check the forum, been flat out with work. I think i`ve worked out the problem or should i say i`ve used another encoder to fix the prob. I`m now using TMPGenc which so far has worked very well. Both sound and video quality are extremely good. I was using AVI2vcd converter to do the encoding but as i said can`t be happier with the outcome after using TMPGenc. Thanks again for your help it was very much appreciated, Mike.

Thanks also to you too syxx2001. No i didn`t use any type of sharpie marker. I always use a felt tip texta but normally mark them after i`ve watched them completely. I still don`t know what the cause was but after using TMPGenc there are no probs. The only other querie i have is i can`t remember where i read about an article on a program or encoder that removes subtitles from a movie or to add water marks. If anyone else out there nows it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again syxx2001, Mike
