  1. hello,

Like the subject said, How do you do that with Nero?? I looked all over but couldn't find any option to make 2 VCDs. I have one big file about 1.4 gig, and I wanted to split that into 2 VCDs, but I couldn't find any option in there. ummm so I need help, thanks.

U have to split the file in 2 before throwing them at Nero (or rather, use VCDEasy!). Use TMPGEnc to cut the 1.4 gig in half, and burn each half.

  3. oh thanks, just read something similar some post down, recommending Virtual Dub, so I'm giving that a try first, and if it's too complicated, I'll try the other options, thanks for the replies.

If it is MPEG(MPG) format then just use TMPGEnc to split it in 2.
If it is in avi format then go ahead and use VDub to scan it for errors,
then rip the sound to a wave file and then combine them in TMPGEnc, then
    split it.

I have done this with virtually no problems, at least with avi's.

  5. I did a trial run, burned 1 CD and the quality suck bad, really really, I used Nero so don't know if there is an option that I forgot to click or what, I viewed the same file that I burned, and it played perfectly good on the PC but when I viewed the cd it sucks. Any idea??

It was an AVI, I used VDub to cut it in half and then just used nero to create the VCD.

Don't use nero to encode the AVI to MPG! Use TMPGEnc, and a bitrate calculator to maximize/optimize the bitrate setting for the video stream.
This will get you the (at least in theory) best possible quality at a given CD capacity.
