Hello there, my first Post :P
I changed my good old trusty Toshiba SD-M1502B DVD-ROM drive for a LiteOn LTD163D (Firmware GHR3). Seems I shouldn't have. The LiteOn is better at ripping music and reading scratched CD's and so on. But now it seems I can't rip DVD's properly anymore.
I use DVD2SVCD to make SVCD's. Very seldom Problems with the Toshiba drive, but after ripping with the LiteOn drive the picture is very distorted, if it runs at all. Any solution to this? Or will I have to buy a Toshiba DVD-ROM drive again? Is the Toshiba SD-M1612 as good as the SD-M1502B, when it comes to ripping DVD's properly? How fast it does the work is not that important, the quality is absolutely nr. 1.
I sincerely hope someone can help me out here. Sorry if this is posted in a wrong group, just let me know where to post it then.
