I am making a SVCD from an AVI using dvd2svcd. I have read a lot about burning a bin and cue file. When I encode using dvd2svcd I get a muxed bbmepg file mpeg. Should I just burn this mpeg using nero or should I do something else. I want the best quality burn.

  2. If you just want to use Nero, then load Nero and choose the "S/VCD" option and then select your MPEG file.

If you use VCDImager or one of its GUIs (e.g., VCDEasy or TSCV), VCDImager creates a CUE/BIN CD image of the S/VCD first (VCDImager itself is not a burning program). You can then use a variety of burning proggies then to burn the CUE/BIN image to a disc.

Nero is okay if you want simple VCDs but if you want to create menus and chapters, then you will have to use something a little bit more advanced (e.g., VCDImager +/- a GUI).

when using dvd2svcd burn the bin que not the mpg one of the great things about dvd2svcd is it creates chapters for you and if you just burn the mpg your defeating one of the programs purposes.burn the mpg = no chapters. burn the bin que = chapters.

Can I burn the .bin and cue files using NERO. I know I can create a svcd using the mpeg but can I create a svcd in nero by burning the .bin .cue files. Is there a guide to do this.

its simple open nero and close the wizard now press file then press burn image an explorer window will pop up now select the cue file (make sure the .bin and .cue files are in the same folder) then just hit burn and your done.

also you must select disk at once - not track at once. you select this after you select the cue.

  7. I've tried burning the image files in Nero, and also burned the BIN files in VCDEasy, and they both work fine, the first ones I made, I burned the MPG's in Nero using the SVCD template, but like they have said previously you lose the chapters
