  1. Hi

As you can tell from the forum I'm posting in, I'm a newbie. I am having problems with converting AVI files into MPGs to create VCDs.

My first problem was that after my first attempt at burning half an AVI, I found that the MPG file didn't have sound at all. The AVI did. I checked the beginners guide, and if I remember correctly, with avi, both the video and the audio source file are just *.avi, I don't need to change the audio source to .wav or anything like that.

Anyways, dissapointed that didn't work I thought I'd tryt again. But this time as it started encoding, I kept getting the message error message "600 600" . I tried again with a different file and get same message with different numbers "-54345349 3234" or something similar every few seconds.

What am I doing wrong? The AVI files are both good working. Am I allowed to mention which files I'm trying to convert or is that a no-no?

    Thanks

MIGHT BE A AUDIO CODEC PROBLEM,YOU DONT SAY WHAT FORMAT THE AVI IS ENCODED WITH GO TO THE TOOLS SECTION ON THIS SITE AND DOWNLOAD THE NEMO CODEC PACK. YOU MIGHT ALSO TRY SELECTING PROPERTIES WHEN THE CONVERTED MPEG IS PLAYING WITH OUT SOUND CHECK THE AUDIO PROPERTIES AND SELECT SECOND CHANNEL AND SEE IF THE SOUND PLAYS THEN...I HAD THAT PROBLEM ONCE
