After I convert my Divx file to an Mpeg with TMPGEnc I try to see if the Mpeg is ok but I can't play it. Is this normal or should I write it first on a VCD?

You should be able to view the MPEG first using any media viewer such as Windows Media Player. Can you play other MPEGS on your system that you have not converted yourself? If not, think you're missing a codec to play MPEG files. Go into your windows directory and look in the system folder. You should have a file in there called 'Mpg4c32.dll' (Microsoft MPEG video codec). If not, think that's your problem.

Yes I can watch other mpeg's without any problems!
That's why I don't understand why the converted ones don't work?!
