  1. I already have tried ripping DVD to VCD by using 321 Studio and it was successfull but it took a lot of time to do it. If I want to burn DVD movies by a DVD recorder such as Pioneer AO-4 to a DVD-R,how long will it take to rip 2 hrs movie? Also, will I need a special decode software like Studio 321? Is the process to rip a DVD movie to a DVD-R quite easy?

I really appreciate your help/advice since I'm thinking about buying a DVD burner. :P [/b]

The steps for putting a DVD movie on DVD-r are as follows:
    1. Rip the movie on your harddrive using either Smartripper or DVD Decrypter.
2a. If the movie is single layer then you can use Ifoedit to make it Region Free and burn directly to DVD-R using Nero or other DVD Burning Software that allows UDF/ISO compilations (almost all of them do).
2b. If the source DVD is dual layer then you need either to strip audio streams and subtitles with Ifoedit and then see if you can fit it on 1 DVD-R or to split the movie on 2 discs using the same IFOEdit.

    3. Burn the 1 or 2 DVD-R at 1X with your DVD Burner.

Step 1 takes about 20-30 minutes with a 16X DVD unit, step 2a. takes 30 minutes and step 2b. takes about 1 hour (30 minutes for Ifoedit to split the movie and 30 minutes for you to fix Region, Chapter info, e.t.c.).
Final step, the burning takes about 1 hour for 4.37 GB DVD-R burnet at 1X.

Ifoedit and all the guides to use this wonderful program you can find at :

    Good Luck !
