    Hi
I am using an Avertv Studio Card.
I capture using PowerVCR with custom settings of mpeg2 640x480 6000 bitrate. I then either encode to SVCD or VCD.
If I am going to encode to Mpeg1 VCD more often than SVCD should I capture in Mpeg1?? To be honest the quality when I do that is crap. Or if I continue to capture in Mpeg2 should I use 352x288?? Would this produce better results when encoding to VCD???

Have you tried using winDVR? The picture quality is much better than PowerVCR. 8)

But if you use powervcr you should capture in a higher quality than you need SVCD and re-encode down to VCD quality afterwards.

    Hi
I believe I tried the Trial Version of WinDVR and didn't get on with it.
Plus I prefer PowerDVD to WinDVD and they are integrated in a Master panel.
But thanks for the advice it backed up what i thought.
    One question tho is......
    What resolution?? 640x480 or 352x288??

    Cheers

Higher resolution usually gives makes the video clearer, from experience.

I have a whole lot of videos that are 320x240, and now its taking me forever to apply filters etc in premiere, so I can resze them to dvd (720x576).
