    Hi guys,
Just wondering if anyone can recommend an all in one convertor for avi to mpg. I currently use virtual dub for stripping audio & TMPGEnc for converting to mpg then use nero to burn. What I'm after is some software which will convert the avi's to mpg without having to use virtual dub. The reason I want an all in one is that ocaisionally I get audio sync problems with TMPGEnc & V Dub. I dont mind buying the software if it does what I want it to do.
    Thanks in advance.

I don't understand you problem but maybe I can learn something new too by somone else's posting to this: It is my untderstanding that TMPGEnc will automatically fill in the audio source path with the AVI if it contains audio and thus there should be no need for stripping audio from AVI before going into TMPGEnc. If you experience audio sync problems that are noe related to different I/O frame rates you can adjust this in the advanced settings. I'm I totally wrong here?

  3. Yep, Tmpgenc can usually handle any audio format which VD will load as they will usually use the same drivers/filters to load them.

When you load the .avi file as the video source in Tmpgenc does it not auto-complete the audio file source line also? It does on mine and always has. If not try selecting the same .avi as the video source and see what happens

Imho as far as the most complete package for .avi to mpeg conversion goes you are already using it and it's called Tmpgenc.

Let us know how you get on - we can have another bash at solving the problem if the above does not work.
