  1. Whenever I try to burn a DVD-R with Ulead Movie Factory, I get the following pop-up message:

"Disk space is not enough, please select another drive"

Now here is the really weird part. Ulead Movie Factory's Output Setting screen shows that I DO have enough space! (also I know project is small enough to fit anyway). Here is what that screen says:

    "Required DVD space: 2.436 MB
    Availible DVD space: 4,489 MB

    Drive: <J> MATSHITADVD-RAM LF-D311 A117 (ULEAD)"

Anyone have any idea what is going on?

Note this is my first attempt at burning a DVD-R. I have sucessfully made lots of miniDVD with Ulead Movie Factory and my Plextor CD burner. However, this is the first time I have used it with my new PANASONIC LF-D311 DVD-R drive.

You may not have enough hard drive space for the program to make an image before burning the dvd.

  3. Many thanks "Feslmogh," you were right. Apparently the message is referring to hard disk space, not available space on the DVD-R.

    Problem solved.

Now, if I could just solve the sync problems with Movie Factory.

I see your OS is WinME, so you are running FAT32 at best, and are thus limited to max 4GB per file. If your burn app needs to write a single ~7GB temp file before starting the burn, you might be out of luck without NTFS (and XP/NT/2000).
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

  6. I am a little ignorant when it comes to OS talk. Should I try a different OS ? or what is it exactly you are saying to try ? I am sorry bear with me while I learn.
