  1. Hi,

I have a problem with a couple of SVCD's I have bought from Beast Wars that I want to backup as MPEG. The SVCD has two languages on it, English and Japanese. That's mode Audio 1+2 (Standard Mode) When you play the SVCD it will play both Languages at the same time. I have to click on Kakaoke to choose for Audio 1 (Japanese) or Audio 2 (English).

When I convert the SVCD .dat to a MPEG (I used VCDGear 305 Gui), everything works ok, but the problem is that it has the standard audio 1+2 mode on, meaning the audio is both Japanese & English at the same time.
I tried TMPGEnc 2.57 because it has some audio options, but no luck. There isn't a audiostream i can choose from.

Can someone please help me out to convert the .dat to MPEG with only the karaoke Audio 2 (English) ?

  2. Here's what you can do:
    - Load the .dat file into VirtualDub
    - Select Full Processing Mode for Audio
    - Under Audio Conversion, select the channel you wish to include (i.e. stereo, left or right)
    - Save the WAV to a file
    - Convert the WAV to MP3 using whatever application you have
    - Simple Multiplex the .dat video stream with the MP3 file using TMPGEnc
    - You're done!

    Anyone know any other methods?

  3. Hi Riceman,
Many thanks for helping me out here
Everything went ok, except for the part of converting the Audio to MP3,
because TMPGEnc 2.57 doesn't work with MP3's but it does with WAV.
I've probably got an older version, but anyway, I got it to work!!!
    Many Thanks!!!
