Use tvtool and disable macrovision www.tvtool.de
Connect to your tv/vcr with either rca or svideo and from your souncard
    Play the movie and record

and please wait at least some days before bumping.

If your vcr has no s-video input you will need a converter. Go to radioshack and ask for a "female s-video to female composite video convertor".

  6. Here's the way I do it. Connect your svideo out to your tv, connect audio out cables to tv. You may need a stereo "y" adapter cord to get both audio cables in, if not just uplug in the mono cable jack.

Connect your vcr to tv with RCA cables, if your tv has a/v out jacks then plug in there.

Right Click on desktop, properties, advanced, click clone view, should see computer screen on your tv. You may have to toggle your video1,2 switch on your tv to get picture, just as you would to see a dvd or video.

Play the avi's with Divx Player or Windows Media Player, you shouldn't have to worry about macrovision if it's an avi. Press record on your vcr.

    Hope this helps.

P.S. it helps if you have a tv with multiple a/v input/output jacks.
