  1. I rip a DVD with smartripper
Use dvd2avi to make a wav and .d2v file.

TMPGenc will not open the .d2v file but it will open the wav file.

Before it would open .d2v files without any problem noy it says" file is not supported" ??????

I downloaded some codecs and still nothing changes?

    Please help
    Thanks SF

  9. Who cares Therick?
Nobody is forcing you to read the post
Perhaps, somebody surfing the other section would recognize the
problem and help out. By posting in two similar discussion groups I receive a higher reach, thus giving me a quicker response time and more information, which is what this is all about. I dont care for your rules and I am not going to follow them to make your little life more convenient. You probably spend too much time online, there is a world out there. By the way I figured out my lil problem, but thanks to all who tried to help out I do appreciate it.

I am now making once again great quality xVCD's

dude they are not my rules...they are Baldrick's...and it's *&^holes like you that fill up his server with bull*&%*.

"By posting in two similar discussion groups I receive a higher reach, thus giving me a quicker response time and more information"

Really?!?!?! No way?!?!?! Are you serious?!?!? I never would have guessed that is why you posted the exact same question twice in 2 minutes???

Gosh, I think that you are really on to something there- why, the next time I have a question, I think I am just gonna post it in all of the forums at once!!! That is sure to cut the hour that it takes someone to respond down to 15 minutes...

Oh yeah, and another thing...I am done with reading these guides that tell me how to do this stuff. I mean, hell you probably haven't read one guide, and all you did was post a question and someone answered...I am just gonna do that from now on. There is no need for those guides...hell why would I want to figure things out when I can just ask someone else to figure it out for me!!!
    End of Line.

  11. By all means, continue crying about my lil 2 posts and take up more server space that you are so concerned with not wasting, it doesn't bother me. In fact, continue as far off topic than any of these discussion groups with your crying. Start a new topic called "Therick's crying about posting", that would be interesting and post it into each and every topic group so everyone can see what a geek you are. Clog the entire discussion group with your crying. You are just contradicting yourself with each and every post, and you can't help yourself but to reply because you have no life. You are just one of those guys who lives in his parents basement trying to police discussion groups with the lil rules you follow as law. And nobody really cares. Posting twice is not Spam, and they were in similar discussion groups. Perhaps El Smarto, I posted to the Newbie conversion group first and realized I am not a newbie when it comes to VCD's and then posted in the advanced section. Hmmmmm, so I thought I would receive more insightful info from a more advanced VCD creator. But afterall, I figured it out myself and all is good now, and nobody who replyed in either group had the answer for me, oh well. You seem to be the only ***hole crying here. So, get a life , there is a world out there. You should invest your time with more productive exercises, like getting more exercise.
Why don't you tell your girlfriend how it makes you mad when people post to discussion groups online twice in 2 minutes and how you feel compelled to write nasty replies to them, and tell them how the world according to Therick really ought to be. Yeah, she will be really impressed. Oh wait, I guess you need a girlfriend to tell all this too, right geek! But I am sure you can buy and inflatable date for 50 bucks.
    LOL!

    Spanishfly,
Flame away if you want, but I agree with therick. Double posting does nothing but clog up the server and wastes space that could be better served answering a question for someone who really needs the help. You with all of your 15 posts have contributed nothing in any way. If you don't like the rules here I suggest moving on.
If this was file sharing you'd be considered a leech. Like I said Flame away if you want, but this is the one and only post I'm making on the subject.
    Warning! I'm baaaaaaaaack

  13. SpanishFly, How did you resolve your dilemma with TEMPGenc not being able to recogize *.d2v project files, I've got the same problem on one of my rigg's. I've got the files you mentioned.

    Just my 2 cents,

Get that file and get TMPGenc and put it all in one directory and it should work. Assuming you are using win2k.

Let me know ifyou have problems.

  15. It was I believe my first post to this website.
I explained that there are two similar topic groups
    Newbie Conversion and Advanced conversion.
So, I posted to both, after I realised my problem was a more advanced problem in that I have been making Vcd's a long time. Ooops, write me a ticket Internet geek police force. What have you never gone over the speed limit before, are you a perfect lil nerd? So, All I can say to you is get over it and get a life. Its over.
And I dont see any drastic effect to my 2 posts as it was relative to both groups. you two have wasted ten times more space than I have if that is your big problem. Worry about bigger issues. I dont care for internet geeks telling me their rules. In fact, it only makes me want to do it more, to piss you off. You are better off saying nothing, unless the person does it repeatedly, but once, please, get a life. You people are the types that look for shit to bitch about becuase your pathetic lives are so miserable.

  16. @NecroWulf

Check and see if your Directshow Plugin is too high. The default should be at -2 or something but to be compomise with avi file I would set priority to 1 or 0 and change when needed.

    @Spanishfly

I wouldn't blame you for anything but if all newcomers or posters here post same question into 2 or more groups (double posts) becuz it's faster, what would it be?

Thanks to baldrick who spends his money and to have this forum running.

  17. Elway,
I thought i was the only one with this problem ! I have been trying to sort it for days now but still no luck ! I have tried all sorts and downloaded your file as suggested, installed everything in the same directory. Still no luck though !

I think i have tried everything, sometimes i get a kernell32.dll error (which i dont know what it means) and sometimes get a C++ basic error about multithred (im not using multithread and have one processor)

i have tried using the wizard but get the same problems.

I have followed guides by doom9 and read FAQS page on TMPG and DVD2AVI,

    d2v files save ok.

I am using version 2.54 and did install 2.58, but my 2.58 didnt have an uninstall so i had to just erase the files then use norton to look for leftovers !

Please Please offer some help if you can
I use win me, athlon 1600, 512k, norton virus and utilities. pioneer a04

Any help much appreciated, if only i could just get this bit sorted !
    Thanks in advance

    Dave

  18. Well, I had this problem and I tried everything to solve it.
    I solved it but I am not sure how. Here is what I did;

I started downloading all the codecs I could.
These are the ones I now have installed:
    Directshow ogg vorbis filter
    Divx 4.12 codec
    Divx 5.0.2 bundle
    Mainconcept dv codec
    Nimo codecs pack 5.0
    Vfapi codecv105en
    Divx Alpha 3.11
new.net domains 3.88 (Not sure what this is?) - might not be a codec?
DAO 3.5 (No sure what this is?) - Might not be a codec?

Then, I did the Vfapi plugin thing again and did the install bat, etc. Make sure everything is in the same folder. I also reinstalled all the programs: TmpgEnc 2.58, Smartripper 2.41 and Dvd2Avi 1.76. I keep all these program files in the same folder. I keep my ripped and converted files (.vob,.mpg,etc) all in another folder. One of the posts above mentions changing the priority of Directshow Plugin. I did this also. Its in one of the guides on the setting to use. But...I think the thing that might have done it for me was clicking on a ntsc thing in the Tmpgenc template folder.
That is the place where you unlock something if this makes sense. I clicked VideoCD(NTSC).mcf....and thats when I noticed my .d2v files working again. Now, I am making great VCD's!!!
Just completed Tokyo Fist and Tape.

So, I hope this helps, should work now if you do what I did.
Sometimes a simple reinstall can do wonders. Goodluck!!!
