    You can try these guys:

    http://www.hypermicro.com/store/index.htm

I've purchased stuff from them before and they've been very reliable. What's wrong with your a04 that makes you want to twist to the a05?

A04 is fine, but It's kinda like going back to the 1X or 2X CD writing, I just feel the need for speed, or I just got the bug, either way I want the best available for now.
You would'nt have a U.K link for me LanceSteel would you??

4X is expensive, but it will drop>get better>settle down...I expect the war will go on for some time yet, but in the mean time the A05 will (hopefully) still burn the slow stuff as the A04 does, I just want some feed back on the performance of the new drive cause I have some cash now but with xmas coming up...... ?

299 @ www.videoguys.com . Personally, I'd stick with the 104, but then I hate being on the bleeding edge. I prefer to stay six month behind the curve. Helps my nerves as well as my pocket book!

  12. CCL computers £160+ vat, in fact they have replaced the 104 with the 105, and the 105 is actually cheaper than the 104 was.

The CCL computer price £162.96 exclusive vat
So that works out at £191.48 inclusive VAT

    Slightly cheaper

Best work out prices with postage to find out which ones work out cheper for you. Or they could be in the neighbourhood so you could call round.

  14. Actually if you order online you qualify for the trade 1+ price, which is £160.05 +vat. I didn't think you would be worried about the 5p.

    Delivery is £5.50 + vat

  15. Hi I have just bought a A05 and eeeekk you guys have found it alot cheaper(£177 plus vat) but thats the edge.If it helps I got it from dabs

    http://www.dabs.com/products/prod-search.asp?action=search&tid=464&mid=305&ob=price
2-3 days (£4) and they email you all the way from dispatch to on you door Great

On the subject of media,i have noticed that alot of shops/suppliers will if asked make you a mixed bundle of all avail(i got 20 DVD-r's for £20) some X2 X1 etc and then when you find that works the best Buy bulk etc..
I have tried the following todate
    1)Infiniti(x1)
    2)White labels Blue Cover(x1) and Yellow/gold Cover(x2).
if you need more info as i work thru the stack let me know.
But I agree with one comment if yo have ao4 I would hold on to your money until the Combi's(DVD+/- R/RW Sony HP) etc sorth themselves out.

@ dolphin2002: how about "ice white" media in the A05? I will be looking to get a good few cheap DVD-R's for my AVI's. Never thought about the combi drives either-I thought the compatibility issue for older players couldent be fixed?
