  1. No offense but, I have read the play by plays and am more confused then ever. I picked a faq that I thought would work for me but does not. It is the one that converts from AVI to MPG so I can use it on my free standing DVD player. I bought a DVD burner just for this purpose because after screwing around with burning VCD's with my CD burner the quality just was not there. Now I try this convert faq and it says at the end that the file is to big for what I am trying to do (the %is in the read 138% or so) I cannot figure out how to make this 2 HOUR movie fit on this file. Please can someone provide a simple way to make this work? all I want to do is take a AVI movie off the net and make it work on my DVD player. Thank you for any help given

    Search Comp PM
    open the avi in tmpgenc

re-encode at a proper bitrate so the resultant mpeg2 file will fit on one dvd. (use the slider at the last screen in the wizard, i believe it needs to be under 4.04GB NOT just under 4.7)

use an authoring program like ulead dvd moviefactory to burn to dvd-r.
