I am having difficulty making consistent Bluray backups that will play in my Sony Player.
i am starting to think that it has something to do with the aspect ratio of the file it seems that
an aspect ratio of 2.35x1 or higher causes some unwanted results.
my latest attempt was to burn ,"Rise of the Lycans",King kong",and Incendiary (all of which 2.35x1 @ 720P)
on a Bd-r disc using multiAVCHD to put it all together..
The disc was burned with img burn (UDF 2.50) and plays perfectly on the PC
but when i try it in the Sony i get a mirrored image of half the screen on all 3 movies..
i have searched the forums and still can not find a reason for this..i have made a few successful discs, as long
as the file ratios are 1.85x1 or less..Am i going to have to re encode any file that is 2.35x1(which seems like all the new movies) to 16x9?..I was also thinking i could be a problem with this model of Bluray player..

    My hardware is as follows:

    Bluray Burner = GG20-H20L
Stand alone Bluray Player = BDP-S350
    Display = Panasonic 50" 16x9 720P HD Tv

If it plays, it isn't a coaster.

The problem is with the source. What is it? Are these 720p downloads?

p.s. get a BD-RE until you sort this out.

The files have to be 720x480,1280x720 and 1920x1080 to play properly,if you authored the files with a resolution such as 1270x536 then you will have the problem you see, load the m2ts or mkv file in tsmuxergui to check the resolution.

    Thanks for the quick reply..
    the files are 720P however
    The movies were 1280X544
which means i can not play movies with 2.35:1 ratio w/out re encoding..Correct?
Is there any stand alone Bluray players that can play 2.35:1,(1280X544)?

    thanks again..

As long as the movies are 1280x720 they will display properly, did you mean you authored the movies at 1280X544?Use uncropMKV to rencode to 1280x720 if they are mkv.

The movies you have maybe 2.35:1 but they are not 1280x720,the ratio have nothing to do with the files playing wrong, its that they are not blu-ray compliant in resolution and no blu-ray player will play them properly with problems like mirror images and misplaced subs.
