  2. somebody had this problem in a previous post, and they said they got rid of "junk" frames, I was wondering on how to do this, Does virtual dub do this?

  3. you can use Vdub to do it by selecting check for bad frames, then saving the avi using direct stream copy.

    Yep, that's a know error
    Use "vdub-mp3-freeze.exe" from
    http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/downloads/virtualdub.html or Kazza

Now select Video > Check video for freezes
This version makes a log of the bad frames at c:\badframes.log which you can use to "go to" the highest blocks first and delete them.

    After you have deleted all
    Video > direct stream copy
    Audio > direct stream copy
    SAVE AVI

    12345
    12346
12347 (Mark and delete these next)

    234567
    234568
234569 (mark and delete these first)

When you goto a frame, always click the yellow icon to jump to the nearest keyframe, before you mark the start or end

234569 Click one keyframe foward, mark end
234567 Click one keyframe back, mark start
Press delete key, do same for lower blocks (If any)

If you have that many bad frames, you better dump it..

also how do i cut off black bars and stuff?
If the picture frame is for example 640 X 480 including the black bars, then think about it, you would need to "Stretch" the frame
to a point where the black bars or no longer visible. If those black bars were equal (Left, right, top, bottom) then the stretch would be proportional, but the quality of a stretch image would look very bad. However if those black bars were only on the top and bottom, then the width is wider than the height, so now the picture will be elongated.

So you can't remove those black borders and expect the output to look good." full screen > keep aspect ratio" produces a good output, and on a widescreen TV you can zoom the borders out.

    mirror ?

Well you can also use the crop function, while you experiment with the full screen or full screen > keep aspect ratio
