Hello,
I am trying to convert an MPG to a VCD, and according to the help instructiond found on this website, if the source video is at 25 FPS, which this is, I should convert it to 'VideoCD(PAL)'. But I read elsewhere that this is the format used outside of the US, and I live in the US and have a DVD player that i bought here. Will PAL VCD's play on my DVD? Is this worth doing? If not, can i only convert video's with FPS of 29,97/30fps or 23,97fps to NTSC?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but i dont get it.
I am very excited about this VCD thing, tho!
Thanks,
Mike.

Firstly check if your DVD AND TV are multi standard i.e. that is PAL & NTSC compatible if they are just leave it as PAL. If you have to convert it use TMPG.

Actually, no. This is the first and only time I have asked this question. I did a search, and someone did ask about transfering PAL to NTSC, or vice versa (which is related in a round-about sort of way), but the conversation quickly degenerated into talk of GPS's and the definition of an analogy. The original poster seemed unable to get an answer. You all have been very helpful to me, though.
Thank you

P.S. This website is seriously invaluable!!! -
Ok, well you have to excuse me, I do see the same questions asked, Nobody minds that. But every now and then there seams to be a question asked word for word
The threads will change very quickly, its up to the original poster to jump back in and say "Tried that did not work, what now?" then the thread should get back to the problem
For example, if I was to say that Baldrick likes lolly's in passing, then ....
