  1. I have windows ME, a HP200i dvd writer and use the Dazzle Hollywood DV Bridge. Can anyone tell me what the best software to use for capture and editing? I've used the HP software (MyDVD and Arcsoft Showbiz), Ulead Video Studio 5.0, Video Explosion and the Dazzle MainActor. I continue to run into the same problems. Since the video I am trying to capture is 97 min long, the avi file created is over 23 GB and broken into 6 smaller segments. I'm not able to use VirtualDub to join them (so I can use TMPGEnc) because they have the audio and video intertwined. Is there a software that I am able to capture video that separates out the audio and video? Then I can use the TMPGEnc (or something like that) to convert it to MPEG2 as you guys previously suggested.

I've read through every post I could trying to find an answer. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated!

I ran into the same type of problem when I started. I found that Pinnacle Studio 7 was very good for capture and editing. Then I save it to Mpeg2 from Studio 7. Then use Ulead DVD Workshop to add menus and chapters and save as vobs to burn to dvd with nero. Both Pinnacle and Ulead have trail versions of software to download.
