MPEG 1 video with Dobly AC-3 2 chanel interleaved Stereo sound?
TMPG Says it's illegal, But Scenarist (god it's a good prog but I dunno how to use it) is acepting it.
I made a vob and the vob played on WinDVD

I'm pretty sure the spec requires MPEG-1 to have an uncompressed PCM, or MPEG-1 Audio Layer 2 file for the soundtrack.
-
Yes, it is legal (I don't think that it would be in the VCD spec, though).
Anyway, if Scenarist says it's okay, then it must be okay! -
I"m making Brittish Comedy DVD's and I'm gonna make 2 channel AC-3 to save space.
I hope it plays on my Apex 660 and soon to be TOshiba SD-K615 -
Also, the MPEG1 maximum video rate is 1856kbps and the only resolution available is 352x240 (or 288 for PAL).
Not exactly what I would call "DVD quality". -
DAmn, so my Mpeg 1 at 720x480 won't work. And also I can only use one constant bitrate
-
Your 720x480 MPEG1 will not work, but MPEG1 CAN be encoded in either VBR or CBR.
-
SO the DVD Mpeg 1 Specs are
352x240
VBR or CBR @ or up to 1856
AC-3 audio is ok.
Their's no way I'm using PCM if it's possible. -
DVD mpeg1 specs are as above but there is no limit on bit rate ..
you are saying in first post you are using stereo sound .. pcm is better quality sound than dolby digital -- its that its just a large file is all .. if you have the room -- there is no reason NOT to use PCM
uncompressed audio or video always beats out compresssed all other factors being the same -
I'm converting the PCM to Dolby Digital. I want to get as many episodes of this tv show onto 1 dvd as I can.
-
it's sorta like a dvd vcd. the episodes look good on vcd so just make a vcd-dvd.
-
WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!1
DVD mpeg1 specs are as above but there is no limit on bit rate ..
DVD MPEG 1 CANNOT EXCIDE 1,856kilobites.
Scenarist is rejecting my 2meg files. -
well in the "official" published specs it says no limit on bit rate (except normal dvd limits) .. well i looked it up and it also says CBR only in fact ...
but then again for vcd it is much more restrictive on bit rate etc.
see if the svcd multiplex , unmultiplex trick works ..
