A friend told me that size doesnt matter when you burn a vcd. He says only the minutes count and that it handles the data differently.
I don't believe that you can burn too much on a 650mb cause there is a limit ofcourse.
But till how far can you go? or hoe many procent of the disk? 110%, 120%?
Or isnt it possible at all?

Minutes dont make a diff...its the size of the file....
For nonstandard VCD burnt on nero in mode 2...Largest movie file I have got on a 80 minute 700mb CDR is 789,328kb or 770 mb with out overburning....though people say that it will hold 800mb but I get errors if I try much larger. The movie was 110 minute give or take a few.
650's are like 74 minutes right ....so you should shoot for around (by my guess) 710 mb as your max size. -
I've burnt up to 812 MB on a 700MB Disc But No More...
To do that you have to burn in Mode 2/Xa. If you burn in mode 1 then you'll only get 700MB per 700MB disc. But I think that VCD's are burnt in Mode 2 anyway..
I don't know too much of the technical stuff about that but I know what I've done...Big_Jit -
Was it 812,000kb or 812mb...they are not the same....812,000kb would be roughly 793mb ...which would follow what has been said.....but 812mb would far exceed whats been done...without overburning (which is not supported by all media or burners....)

where do i select that 2/xa mode??
got a lite-on 12x10x32 writer btw.. and i use nero 5.5 to burn -
In nero you select VCD ..then uncheck standard compliant...the second or third tab will be ISO... on mine when you chose VCD then the format choices( 1 or 2XA) is greyed out like its automaticly mode 2..but I also choose ISO level 2.
