  1. G'day..

I'm having problems with a file I have, at the moment it is in AVI format and I'm trying to convert it to vcd(pal)..... with TMPGE (the newest version on their site)

the problem is this it gets to 13% then stops, I belive what causes this is because of the quality of the file, when I veiw it with windows media player I have to use the scroll bar at the bottom to skip it over this part and afew others on this file aswell!!! I know it is not me that is creating the problem because I have converted other files and infact even the first half of this two part one...

So my question is this, DOES ANYBODY KNOW HOW I CAN OVER COME THIS PROBLEM I'M HAVING WITHOUT HAVING TO REDOWNLOAD THE FILE AGAIN (it is pretty big) ???

Any help that can be given would be wonderful as I'm only a newbie to all this but have enjoyed the fruits of my labour so far
thanks for taking the time to read this your mate Q_A.....

Load the file into Virtual Dub. Select Video-->Scan for video stream errors. If the programs finds any bad frames, you can delete them and save the new file and start over again. I always thought this is always what you do when you download any file, let alone the ones that give you problems.
    Hello.

Vdub can give problems when scanning for junk frames, until its fixed...

Use "vdub-mp3-freeze.exe" this makes a log of the bad frames at c:\badframes.log use the log to delete the bad frames, starting with the highest blocks and jumping to the nearest key frame (yellow Icon)

Start, click back one key frame
End, click forward one key frame
    before marking < >

  4. thank you borh for replying to my post

It is good to know there are people around that don't mind helping out others when they come across a brickwall....

I will give both of these ideas a try although I must say that the mp3-freeze idea sounds simple enough that even I could figure it out.......
