  2. are you trying to make a dvd-movie? If so you can't just put a your .mpg file stright into nero and burn, you need to use additional software to author the film and create a titleset. You will end up with files just like those on a regular dvd (.ifo .vob), these are the files you need to put on your dvd.

Of course if i've missed the mark completely then sorry for wasting your time

  5. I don't understand what you're saying here. You can't change the mpeg2 over to what?

I'm afraid in the world of DVD nothing is quick and little

  7. Try Ulead's DVD Movie Factory, it's a much more simpler version of Workshop and it's what I use all the time, so it must be good

    mol3000,

Authoring a DVD (with programs such as DVD Movie Factory) is what you have to do to "change it over to the files (.vob etc.)". There's no quick way around this.

  9. I want to do a similar thing just to store my MPEG2 file (not to create a working DVD). It seems I am unable to store files on DVD larger than 2gb.

Correct. Neither the ISO file system nor the UDF file system can address greater than 2^31. So NERO can't store a file this big on anything. You need to split your file into smaller chunks (that's "pieces", not the dog!). Use something like WinRAR or SPLITTER to split the files. When you are ready to author, the original file can be resurrected without any losses.

DVD Authoring software will automatically create the VOB files in 1gb chunks to avoid this limitation.
