hi, can somebody please tell me what video capture software (PVR) is the best to use with this card:
Asus my cinema-p7131
i tryed virtualdub and inter video windvr. the first one i got all the trouble for the ajustement and i can't play with the avi compression on the capture mode. As for the other one, it's not very adjustable either. It only does mpegs with crappy quality. but this one, at least, got a very good tv recording scheduler. Sadly, each time i use virtualdub just before this one, i always lose the sound coming from the card and i can't recover it except if i do a system restoration.
so, here i am.
any good suggestions ?

are you purposely butchering the english language or have canadian schools fallen so far.....
if you do a google search not many people have anything good to say about that card.
i don't know if it has a compatible tuner chip but maybe check out sage tv software. it's not free but there might still be a demo you can try.Last edited by aedipuss; 16th Apr 2010 at 10:56.

Virtualdub is the best for capturing in avi, and it has A LOT of adjustable options, including adjusting avi compression.
For mpeg2 capture i have used mainconcept mpeg encoder with decent results, and Ulead VideoStudio 10 (mpeg2) with little better results (my opinion).
I have tested other versions of ulead's software and i think that this version is the best of them for capturing interlaced mpeg2.
Windvr captures progressive frames with blended fields... not good. -
ok, how do you do the adjustment for the compression in the capture setting ? does it have a tv scheduler, i didn't found any setting for this.

ok, now i got a new problem. each time i use vurdualdub video capture, there is always something like some image jumping during playback. i think it's some dropping frames, but i'm not sure. i do the capture at 720x480, so... even when i reduce the resolution at 352x240, this problem happen, so, really don't know what to do.
