  1. when encoding from avi to mpeg1 i have no video. i'm using downloaded movies. they play in windows media player so the files are good. i have followed the instructions in the TMPGEnc help section but, to no avail. any ideas on what i'm doing wrong?

    Try TMPGEnc 12 (not 12a, b,c,d,e,f,g, etc.). I've had the same
    problems with some avi files like yours, and found that by
    using version 12, all is well again. Give it a try!

  3. Actually, I've had this "no video" problem with Tmpgenc beta 12 too. It seems to happen when I inverse telecine with tmpgenc.

    Tmpgenc 12i solves this problem for me.
