  1. My friend has a Dazzle DVC. He captures his home videos to MPEG. He just bought a DVD burner and wants to put his movies on DVD's. The burner came with Nero and MyDVD (and windvd but that's irrelevant).

For some reason, with Nero, it would let me pick the DVD-Video option. It will only let me burn data to the DVD.

MyDVD will import an MPEG and burn it, but it only uses "Best" encoding which means it will only fit 60 minutes on the DVD. However, if I capture directly from the Dazzle into MyDVD, I can select what quality I want so I can put up to 180 minutes on to the DVD. However, MyDVD doesn't detect the dazzle even though it says it supports it. Dazzle's tech support did nothing for me, and Sonic doesn't want to talk to me since the software came from an OEM.

What software should I use? My friend is pretty computer illiterate, something which is as close to drag and drop as posssible is preferred.

Has anyone run into the same problem with either nero or MyDVD? Thanks for any and all replies!

Nero works fine, however Nero does not author nor render mpeg2 video, it must be authoered to vob files ( in an authoering program like DVD Workstation ) before Nero can burn it, either as DVD Video or UDF / ISO.
